By being westernized, we think that we became very convenient. For example, many Japanese people like fast food such as hamburgers. Also, many houses are westernaized houses with western toilets. However, if many things are westernized too much, we don't think it is a good idea because we are afraid that Japanese culture collapses.
Thank you very much for answering our question, it was very interesting to know that the first advantage of westernization that came into your mind was convenience it brought. I don't know if you would agree or not, but in my personal opinion I think it is a pity that Shinto had to face deprecation as a part of westernization. However, I am glad to see it is still an important element of your life and Japanese culture in general.
I guess what makes Japan unique to others is that even though Japan is fairly westernized but they also maintain their original Japanese culture and tradition. The blend of both western and Japanese culture made Japan somehow more attractive and appealing to people. At the same time of course you can't have one exceeding the other, so I DO agree that being too westernized will cause the old tradition to vanish.
